Summer Interns for SiS Karlsvik, Day/Evening and Awake Night Shifts

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements secure care for youth. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. The Karlsvik department is a discharge preparation unit located in Höör and is a branch of SiS youth home Hässleholm. The department focuses on young people in the transition phase who are not assessed to need care in locked forms.

We are now looking for summer interns for our new Karlsvik department during the summer of 2026!

  • We are looking for both those who can work full-time during the summer, but we also offer employment on an hourly basis for those who can work extra or part-time.
  • We are seeking summer interns with shifts during the day, evening, and weekends.
  • We are looking for those interested in working awake night shifts (weekdays and weekends).

Job Description

Through your employment as a treatment pedagog, you can make a difference for our youth. You have the opportunity to engage in treatment work in a high-security environment with good staffing density. The youth at SiS have backgrounds marked by unpredictability and stress in various forms, which means your focus will be on working professionally with treatment, care, and motivational work, as well as being a support in their daily lives. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable boys in difficult life situations.

You will be part of the youths' daily lives, including cooking and cleaning routines, evening activities, and more. All activities are carried out safely and are carefully risk-assessed before implementation. You will work on building secure relationships, as well as using selected and effective treatment methods. Documentation is an important part of your work.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position include:

  • Post-secondary education of at least two years in accordance with the new Social Services Ordinance. This could be education in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field. Exceptions to the educational requirement can be made, but only if there are special reasons. A special reason could be that you have long professional experience or other relevant competencies.
  • NOTE! NO EXCEPTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
  • B driver's license
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Personal Qualities

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have strong communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment, either full-time or part-time. It may also be relevant to work extra on an hourly basis.

Start date according to agreement.

As a new employee, you will undergo an introductory week followed by an introduction to client-facing work.

SiS has also decided to introduce a summer bonus for summer interns in client-facing work in 2026. The bonus is 2,500 SEK per completed week after at least 4 weeks, paid out in September after reconciliation.
