Welcome to Open Care Housing at the Employment and Social Services Administration!
We are three sections working with open care for citizens in Malmö. We are now looking for three substitutes for employees who will be on parental leave. If you enjoy building trusting relationships, have a commitment to coordination, and want to be part of Sweden's largest Employment and Social Services Administration – then this could be the job for you!
Job Responsibilities
Open Care Housing is a service within the Employment and Social Services Administration that offers support to citizens in Malmö who need assistance before, during, and after housing. Before could mean receiving advice and support to find housing or an apartment. During could involve maintaining one’s housing or working towards a rental contract or alternative housing. After could mean ensuring that everything is in place after securing housing or obtaining a rental contract to avoid missing the first rent payment, and ensuring that a guardian is in place, etc. Open Care Housing also works with the rehabilitation model Case Management Strengths Model. This service targets Malmö residents who have difficulties managing daily life (both at home and in society) and need support to work long-term on the factors that may contribute to problems arising. In Case Management, outreach work is the starting point, meaning that much of the work is conducted outside of an office environment.
Together with the Malmö resident, you set goals and plan the intervention in an implementation plan/strengths analysis that is regularly followed up. You work coordinatively and assist with the contacts, help, and collaboration that the Malmö resident desires and consents to. The aim is for the Malmö resident to achieve their goals and ultimately live an independent life.
The tasks vary from mapping conversations and support conversations to collaboration with other professional actors, such as investigating social workers and other actors within Social Services, healthcare, the Employment Agency, and other service providers within the Employment and Social Services Administration.
Furthermore, the work will also include administrative tasks such as statistical reporting, follow-up, evaluation, developing routines, and documentation.
At Open Care Housing, there are interventions for people of different ages, with different life stories. This requires the ability to switch between different strategies and responses depending on the person you are facing. It also requires the organization to continuously evaluate and find new solutions.
In our organization, you won’t hear “because we’ve always done it this way” when you question something. Instead, we discuss based on the purpose of our work, and if you have a better solution, we will listen to you. We draw inspiration from other organizations and prioritize time for training and study visits.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and an interest and commitment to homelessness. You have experience working with coordination for individuals with long-term exclusion and/or co-occurring disorders. If you have previous experience working with homelessness, substance abuse and dependency, mental health issues, follow-up and evaluation, as well as in-depth knowledge of drug use and mental health, open care, or in treatment homes, it is an advantage. You express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing, as well as in spoken English. If you can speak additional languages and have a B driver's license, this is also an advantage.
Knowledge in the following areas is also advantageous:
- Case management
- MI
- First aid in mental health
- Recovery-oriented work methods
- Networking
- Digital journal
The person we are looking for is creative and solution-focused with a desire to influence and develop the organization. For us, it is important that you can work according to requirements and guidelines while maintaining a meta-perspective and seeing how to change the organization in the long term. You have a low-arousal approach and the ability to see strengths and assets in the people you meet in your work. You are unpretentious, have self-awareness, and possess a well-developed ability to collaborate as well as the ability to structure, plan, and drive your work forward.
Welcome to an exciting and developing job within social services!
