Detention Supervisor for the Detention Center in Ljungbyhed

We are seeking a detention supervisor for the detention center in Ljungbyhed.

A detention unit houses individuals who have received a deportation or expulsion decision and who need to be available for enforcement. A person can also be detained if their right to reside in the country or their identity needs to be investigated. The detention center is a closed unit and operates around the clock. The work is based on current legislation where legal security, dignity, and safety are important.

What does a detention supervisor do?

The role includes work such as care, monitoring, searches, and security. You conduct conversations during, for example, admissions and discharges, as well as to inform about decisions. You pay attention to and handle any special needs of the detainees and organize activities for them. Furthermore, you ensure a calm, safe, and secure environment at the detention center by performing security checks and searches. Participation in transports, responsibility for food handling, and some administration are also part of the job. The work can be physically demanding at times.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has good collaborative skills, is attentive, and resolves conflicts constructively. You have good self-awareness and can distinguish between personal and professional matters.

You who apply have

• High school education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
• Experience in work requiring good service and professional conduct
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Good knowledge of English
• Driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have

• Experience working with people in vulnerable situations
• Experience in social work, such as care, mental health, addiction, or similar
• Experience working in a locked environment, such as detention, correctional services, forensic psychiatry, or similar operations
