We are looking for creative, flexible, responsible, and engaged individuals who want to come and work on our beautiful island in:

  • after-school care
  • special needs schools
  • preschool

In our schools, we focus on using modern pedagogy and technology to create a holistic learning experience that is varied and enjoyable. As students grow older, they should have increased influence over their learning. The school focuses on the student and their learning.

You will find our municipal schools in:

  • Henån (F-9 and special needs school)
  • Ellös (F-6)
  • Varekil (F-6)
  • Svanesund Ängås school (F-9)

In our preschools, we focus on using modern pedagogy and technology to stimulate children's learning and support them in daily routines in a playful and exploratory manner based on the preschool curriculum. The preschool focuses on the child and their learning and development.

You will find our municipal preschools in:

  • Henån (Bagarevägen and Ängberget as well as Strandvillan, which offers childcare during inconvenient working hours, evenings, nights, and weekends)
  • Ellös
  • Tvet
  • Svanesund (Alemyren and Ängås)

Your tasks

As a part-time employee at the schools in Orust municipality, you will be offered a varied, fun, and developing job. In the schools, you will work with children and youth aged 6 – 16 years, and in the preschools, we have children aged 1-5 years.

The daily tasks vary, but you will have responsibilities that include:

School and after-school care

  • Conducting your own lessons
  • Assisting with indoor and outdoor activities
  • Helping and supporting children in their development according to the curriculum
  • Being responsible for the operations together with regular staff, and at certain times of the day, being solely responsible
  • Other tasks included in primary school

Special needs school and after-school care in special needs school

  • Assisting with indoor and outdoor activities
  • Helping and supporting children in their development according to the curriculum
  • Being responsible for the operations together with regular staff, and at certain times of the day, possibly being solely responsible
  • Other tasks included in special needs school

Preschool

  • Supervising children to ensure they have a safe day at preschool
  • Participating in what the children do during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and hygiene moments
  • Stimulating children's curiosity and addressing their questions by conversing with them about big and small matters
  • Being responsible for the operations together with regular staff, and at certain times of the day, possibly being solely responsible, where conversations with children's guardians are an important part

About you

We are looking for someone who is flexible, creative, responsible, and engaged, and who enjoys working with people. You have social skills, are attentive and accommodating, take initiative, and are humble.

You have good collaboration skills and can work independently.

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You should have at least Swedish A at the high school level and have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
  • We prefer candidates with education and/or experience working with children and youth
  • We prioritize applicants with approved or ongoing education as teachers, preschool teachers, childcare workers, or other education deemed suitable by the employer
  • Previous experience working with children and youth is an advantage

Additional information:

Work hours/duration: Part-time employment, daytime Monday to Friday

Salary: Individual salary setting

Start date: By agreement

Driver's license: Not required but advantageous
