IT Educator at the Vision Center

Are you interested in a meaningful and varied role as an IT educator? At the vision center, we meet children and adults who have impaired vision or lack visual ability.

With us, patients receive advice and support based on their needs related to their visual impairment. This may involve assistive devices and support from an IT educator.

As an IT educator, you assist patients with the installation of adaptive software for computers, such as screen readers and magnification programs. Many patients also need help finding the right adaptations and settings on their phones, computers, and tablets, which the IT educator can assist with. The role includes inspiring, guiding, and providing pedagogical support in the use of digital tools, as well as keeping up with developments and staying updated on news, updates, and various changes in the field. The work includes prescribing, training, follow-up, and servicing various visual aids.

In your role as an IT educator, you will work both individually and alongside other experienced colleagues, making the work stimulating. In our work, you will meet patients at the clinic, during home visits, at schools, or in workplaces, all based on the patient's needs.

About You

For this role, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in supporting and working with patients within the vision center's target group. You enjoy meeting people of all ages, and it comes naturally to you to collaborate with colleagues, healthcare partners, schools, and more. Sharing knowledge and experiences with colleagues while also contributing your own expertise is essential to help our patients in the best way possible. To thrive in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy problem-solving!

We are looking for someone with IT competence combined with education in pedagogy or healthcare. Experience working with individuals with visual impairments is an advantage.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form and possess a B driver's license.

We serve the six northern municipalities of the county, and the vision center is part of the Habilitation North base unit, which also includes children's and adult habilitation.
