Middle School Teacher at Slottsskolan

The Education Administration is responsible for fulfilling the municipality's tasks within the public and voluntary school system for children and youth, as well as care activities for children.

This includes family day care, preschool, preschool class, after-school care, primary school, special primary school, youth centers, leisure homes, libraries, and culture schools.

We are now looking for a middle school teacher for grades 6-9 in mathematics, physics, and technology at Slottsskolan, preferably with a combination of another subject.

Slottsskolan is a middle school for grades 7-9 located in central Borgholm. One day a week, students from grade 6 are present and study certain science subjects. The school's catchment area includes students from the southern half of the municipality, where students naturally begin their final primary school years with us after grade 6.

Slottsskolan is well-known for successfully working with many rewarding international projects and being at the forefront of digital pedagogy. In combination with close collaboration with guardians and other authorities, we serve as a guiding force for the emerging generation in the municipality.

The school has an integrated youth center that operates in the premises after school hours. Staff at this center also work during school hours and serve as an important bridge between the soft values of the curriculum and the measurable goals of knowledge. The school has a well-established student health service, which, together with teaching educators, provides a safe adult presence.

The main task of the school is to plan and implement a good educational activity that results in high goal fulfillment for our students. As a teacher with us, you are expected to work both individually and together with other subject colleagues and staff. The position includes shared mentorship for one of the school's classes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Being a teacher in primary school is an exciting and interesting assignment. You are an important piece of the puzzle that, together with all other staff at the school, creates opportunities for our students to grow and develop in a safe environment. You will primarily be responsible for teaching mathematics/physics/technology, but depending on your subject qualifications, other subjects may also become relevant in the future.
