Service Technician for Education Services at Police Training in Borås

Are you ready for a bigger challenge? The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. With us, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society.

We are now looking for a service technician to join our team at Education Services, located at the police training program at the University of Borås. We are looking for someone who is service-oriented, structured, and highly flexible. With us, you will develop alongside engaged and friendly colleagues and gain lifelong experiences, while your work contributes to increasing safety and reducing crime in Sweden.

The unit is part of the HR department of the Police Authority.

HR – Police Training

The Police Training Unit is responsible for ensuring that police training meets the authority's needs – both in terms of the content of the training and the available training places.

The unit is responsible for attracting, planning, coordinating, following up, developing, and ensuring the quality of the training for police officers, including the subsequent aspirant training conducted within the Police Authority.

The role includes managing and preparing requirements for the educational institutions that conduct police training on behalf of the Police Authority and handling dialogue, agreements, and quality follow-up with educational institutions as well as orders to the National Service and Assessment Agency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities include service in the areas of uniforms, vehicles, alarms, and access control. In these areas, you as a service technician will handle logistics, security, purchasing/orders, uniform fittings, service, repairs, and destruction of police training materials that are managed and used at each police training.

Service technicians at all police training programs work closely together and also work to improve processes related to training materials. You will work daily in several different IT systems. During varied workdays, administration is mixed with operational service work, heavier lifting, and uncomfortable working positions may occur. Your placement will be at the police training program at the University of Borås, and some travel may occur, primarily in the local region, but also travel around the country may be necessary as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who:

  • Have at least a completed high school education or equivalent education/experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Have recent experience in a relevant service function, preferably in a role where you frequently have had personal meetings
  • Have a valid B driver's license and good driving experience
  • Have good skills in using and adapting to digital tools/IT systems
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you also have experience in:

  • Solid experience and good competence in working with IT-based case management or business systems
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance and simple repairs such as changing car batteries or bulbs
  • Experience working with clothing/uniforms
  • Experience in handling authorization applications
  • Extended driving license, e.g., BE

Personal Attributes

To thrive in this role, it is important that you have a strong sense of service and focus on the customer. You need to have good communication skills, and since we work closely together within the team and in collaboration with the authority, it is also important that you have good teamwork skills. As the work is often event-driven, you need to be flexible, self-driven, good at structuring and prioritizing tasks, and meticulous even in stressful situations.

Additionally, you should be able to see how your group's work contributes to the whole and have a desire to learn new things and contribute to developing and improving processes.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and suitability.
