Financial Manager with Office Responsibility

Do you have experience from an accounting firm or as a financial manager and have worked from start to finish? This might be the job for you!

SJR is looking for a financial manager with office responsibility for a small entrepreneurial company located on Avenyn, Gothenburg.

This is a recruitment, which means you will be directly employed by our client. The role is broad, operational, and central in the organization where you work closely with the CEO and owner. There is an opportunity for hybrid work and flexibility.

We are looking for someone who enjoys having overall responsibility, is unpretentious, and likes to be the one who makes everyday life work – both financially and practically.

About the Position

As a financial manager, you will be the sole person in the finance function and responsible for the entire financial flow for a main company and a few smaller companies. You will work operationally with everything from ongoing accounting to year-end closing and annual reports, and have ongoing contact with banks, auditors, and authorities. Financial work is the core of the position, and we place great importance on you feeling secure in the overall picture.

In addition to financial responsibility, you are an important support function for the CEO and employees. The role can be described as a “spider in the web” assignment where you ensure that both administration and office run smoothly in everyday life. The work environment is unpretentious, informal, and characterized by direct communication and high trust.

Responsibilities

Finance (50%)

  • Ongoing bookkeeping for one company and several smaller companies
  • Customer and supplier invoices including accruals
  • Payments, reminders, and liquidity monitoring
  • VAT, AGI, periodic summaries, and declarations
  • Salaries, receipts, expenses, and allowances
  • Monthly closing with reconciliations
  • Year-end closing and annual reports
  • Income tax returns, K10, and control reports
  • Bonus calculations and financial follow-up for the CEO
  • Reporting to, for example, the Tax Agency, FORA, and pension companies

Office Responsibility and Administrative Support (50%)

  • Responsibility for the office and daily operations
  • Ordering office supplies and practical purchases
  • Contact with suppliers, customers, and external partners
  • Support during new hires (equipment, permissions, administration)
  • Handling and archiving of contracts, customer documentation, and records
  • Booking conferences, activities, and travel
  • Practical support for consultants and salespeople in everyday life

The role may occasionally require work outside of office hours.

Suitable Background

We are looking for someone with a broad and practical background in finance who is comfortable working independently with the entire financial process. You thrive in a role where you can take responsibility, solve problems, and support the business where needed. As a person, you are unpretentious, service-oriented, and solution-focused. You communicate easily, are straightforward and clear, and thrive in an informal environment. You do not mind alternating qualified financial work with more practical tasks – on the contrary, you see it as a natural part of the role.

We would like you to:

  • Be experienced in working broadly with accounting and year-end closing
  • Have good system skills, preferably from Visma
  • Be fluent in English, both spoken and written
