About the assignment
At Novare, we are a proud and approved supplier of the state framework agreement in Sweden. We are now looking for an accounting assistant for Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
As an accounting assistant at the authority, you will become part of the authority's finance function. In your workgroup, there are currently about 11 employees with different roles in finance and administration. Your main tasks will include accounting, bookkeeping, financial project reporting, and coding. You will be an important part of the authority's work.
For this role, we are looking for someone who is analytical, meticulous, and unpretentious. You work in a structured manner and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You are an engaged team player with good communication skills.

Examples of overall tasks

• ensure good accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations
• financial project reporting to funders
• interpretation of terms from funders and other contractual parties
• work with accounting and bookkeeping
• work in financial systems (for example, Raindance, Hypergene)
• coding
• work with accounts payable and receivable
• participate in year-end closing work
• respond to inquiries regarding incoming and outgoing payments.

Requirements for the position

• university degree in finance or equivalent education and at least three (3) years of work experience in similar roles. Alternatively, high school or equivalent education and five (5) years of work experience as an accounting assistant
• experience in similar financial work
• experience in accounting, budgeting, and year-end closing work
• good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
• good knowledge of financial systems (for example, Unit 4 ERP, Raindance, Hypergene, Visma, etc.)
• can communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Meritorious requirements for the position

• experience in financial work within higher education/universities or similar research activities
• experience with the Raindance and Hypergene systems
• experience in project accounting.

Assignment period and scope
The assignment is full-time with a planned start date of February 1 and runs until 2027-01-31 with the possibility of extension until 2026-07-17. The placement is at the authority in Gothenburg, and there is an opportunity for some remote work.
