Substitute Teacher Needed at Fjälkestad School

One of our teachers is going on parental leave, and we are now looking for YOU! You will work as a substitute teacher at Fjälkestad School in grades 4-6 and will be a class teacher together with a colleague in grade 5. Your Role with Us

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the curriculum goals where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important cornerstones. You have positive and high expectations for the students and adapt the teaching based on all students' levels, focusing on the best interests of the student.

Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you keep yourself updated on events in the world and the everyday lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. In a systematic way, you reflect on the practical work, and together with colleagues, you drive development work in the workgroup/school. You also have a shared responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you will be supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work, and if you are an unqualified teacher, you can teach but not be responsible for it. The responsibility for grading lies with a licensed teacher.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach in grades 4-6 in the subjects Swedish/Math/English as well as social studies or natural sciences in elementary school. It is advantageous if you have any of the following subjects such as Swedish, English, art, and/or physical education within the scope of your license. Secondly, we are looking for someone who has subject knowledge at the university level in the above subjects. It is advantageous if you have pedagogical education at the university level. You have experience in teaching, preferably within elementary school, and we would like you to have worked with children/young people aged 9-13 years.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's conditions, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, a calm working environment, and a desire to learn. We would like you to have a good ability to teach children in need of special support and the ability to help students handle conflicts that arise. You have commitment, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the world of education and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can create trusting relationships both inside and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a confident educational leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure your work based on set goals.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and well acquainted with the ethical principles for teachers and have the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.

In order for us to consider your application, you must attach your diploma and teaching license. If there are no qualified licensed teachers, you who are unqualified can be employed temporarily according to the Education Act. When we want to offer you the position, you must present an extract from the police criminal record for us to be able to employ you, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
