Job Responsibilities

Together with colleagues, you will conduct and be responsible for mapping the causes of student absenteeism and share the team's understanding of the current situation with the student, guardians, and the regular school. You will participate in the work of the regular school to implement measures that promote the student's attendance.

The students in the Attendance Team have extensive school absenteeism and have generally not participated in teaching at the regular school for a longer period. Your task will be to plan and, in certain student cases, conduct teaching based on the students' individual needs together with the regular school.

As a teacher in the Attendance Team, you will also work with colleagues to break the student's possible social isolation and reintegrate the student into a functioning school context. You will conduct school training, either individually or in smaller groups, and collaborate closely with teaching staff and other relevant personnel at the regular school.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher for grades 1–6 who is skilled at adapting teaching to individual needs. We prefer candidates with experience working with students with problematic school absenteeism. A special educational training qualification is an advantage.

We seek an individual who is independent, responsible, and has a solution-focused approach. You are confident in making decisions and comfortable with both working alone and in a group. It is essential that you are calm, stable, unpretentious, solution-oriented, and creative. You see students' right to education as a core issue and understand that the path to it may look different for each student.

About the Workplace

We are looking for a teacher for grades 1–6 who wants to work in the Attendance Team, which targets students with problematic school absenteeism. The Attendance Team is a centrally coordinated support initiative for municipal primary schools in Malmö. The primary mission of the organization is to map the causes of the student's problematic absenteeism together with the student, guardians, and the regular school, and to create a shared understanding of the underlying factors. In each individual student case, the Attendance Team supports the regular school in establishing a return plan that is regularly followed up and revised based on the student's needs. The goal of the support initiative is for the student to return to a sustainable and functioning school attendance. The younger Attendance Team consists of teachers and special educators. The operations are based in their own premises and work with a limited number of students. The target group is students in Malmö's primary schools in grades 1–6 with problematic school absenteeism.
