Workplace Description
The Faculty of Medicine's Center for Teaching and Learning (MedCUL) has the overarching mission to support the faculty's teachers and management in their work to develop the quality of education.
We offer accredited higher education pedagogical training (BHU), workshops, and seminars in medical pedagogy, supervisor training, as well as practice-oriented support to educational programs, program committees, and individual teachers.
The faculty conducts education closely related to healthcare operations, which means a particular focus on supervision, learning environments, and pedagogical processes in healthcare education.
Our work is based on current research in medical pedagogy and higher education pedagogy and is closely linked to the faculty's quality work. MedCUL consists of teachers, TA staff, and student assistants, and as a team, we work closely together with the ambition that our work should be characterized by collegiality, creativity, and joy at work.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
As a university lecturer at MedCUL, you will work on designing, leading, and developing learning environments for university teachers. The assignment is based on the faculty's student-centered approach and is built on active learning, collegial learning, and evidence-based pedagogy. The assignment includes two complementary main areas.
- To design and lead learning processes in the accredited higher education pedagogical training, as well as to create conditions for collegial learning and reflection in course activities.
- To support teaching teams and educational programs in working with active learning, assessment for learning, and quality development, as well as to represent MedCUL in committees, quality boards, and program committees. The work is carried out in close collaboration with healthcare and educational operations and includes pedagogical issues related to supervision, communication, and learning environments in medical education.
Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:
- Master's degree and completed higher education pedagogical training of at least 5 weeks or equivalent competence
- Experience in pedagogical work within the higher education sector, including developing learning environments and learning processes based on a student-centered approach
- Experience in pedagogical development work such as course or program development based on active learning
- Excellent ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Good collaboration and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Experience in medical pedagogy or education in healthcare and health
- Experience in quality work in program committees or equivalent educational bodies
- Experience in supervising pedagogical development projects
- Experience in pedagogical issues related to supervision, oral communication, or simulation
- Doctoral education and research experience in a relevant field
- Complete accredited higher education pedagogical training (10 weeks according to SUHF Recommendation 2016:1)

The position is a permanent appointment with a workload of 100% full-time, starting on 2025-03-01 or by agreement.
