Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a teacher for grades 1-6 with a qualification in Music to Bäckagårdsskolan! You will be part of a team of teachers who together plan and are responsible for the students' education and development. Your focus will be on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment. You will teach students in elementary school, where you will educate and support them in their social and academic development.

You will primarily teach grades F-5 in music. The position also includes a smaller portion of teaching art for grades 4 and 5. You challenge students to take their own initiatives, develop their interests, and take responsibility for themselves and others. At Bäckagårdsskolan, we develop the school together.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching grades 1-6 in music. If you have previous experience working as a teacher, we consider it an advantage. Previous experience in teaching art is also considered an advantage. You have a good understanding of and knowledge about the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills, enabling you to lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day.

Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school. If you have experience working with special support, we consider it an advantage.

About the Workplace

Bäckagårdsskolan is a F-9 school with approximately 570 students and about 80 staff members. The school is located in eastern Malmö next to the green areas of Gyllins Trädgård and Husie Mosse. The surrounding nature and the school's facilities provide a creative and healthy learning environment. Bäckagårdsskolan works with a holistic approach regarding the student's physical, mental, and social health, as well as ensuring that the student feels and understands their context. The work is based on the school's health-promoting plan, which permeates everything we do. We have a good community at the school and a strong belief in co-leadership and participation, where everyone contributes to development. With us, you will be warmly welcomed by your colleagues, and you will work closely with the school's Student Health team, which includes a counselor, student coordinator, social pedagogue, school nurse, school psychologist, and two special educators. Your immediate supervisor will be the assistant principal for the middle school.
