Workplace Description
The research group for endocrine cell differentiation and function at the Department of Laboratory Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine is currently conducting research on pancreatic cancer and endocrine cell differentiation and is a leader in its field.

The research group is led by university lecturer Isabella Artner and consists of three additional members. The group is international and includes research, administrative, and technical functions. We are now looking for a driven and experienced researcher in cancer biology who can support the project. Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
The research assignment involves independently conducting analysis and validation of transcriptomics in pancreatic cancer cells under the guidance of the project leader. The analysis includes cell culture, gene expression analysis, histology, and work with animal models. The tasks also include data analysis, FACS, ChIP-seq, and immunohistochemistry. You will also publish articles in scientific journals, contribute at conferences, and assist with other tasks as required by the project.
Qualifications
Requirements for employment are:
- PhD in developmental biology or a related field
- Experience in research within pancreatic cancer biology
- Experience in transcriptomic analysis of cancer cells, including functional validation, work with relevant cell culture systems, and molecular biology
- Experience working with animal models
- Ability to conduct independent research at an advanced level
- Excellent command of English
- Good analytical skills, drive, and good collaboration skills
Desirable qualifications for the position are:
- Experience in dissection and histological analysis of animal models
- Previous experience in research within similar projects
Research competence is the primary criterion for employment. When assessing applicants, consideration will be given to their research profile, experience, and knowledge.
Additional Information
The position is a fixed-term employment for 2 years, with the possibility of extension up to 3 years. Start date 2026-03-01 or by agreement.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, the applicant must have obtained a PhD, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, in a subject area relevant to the position (i.e., biology, biomedicine, medicine, chemistry). The degree must have been obtained no more than three years before the date of the employment decision. If there are special reasons, the PhD may have been obtained earlier.
