We are looking for a tutor/youth leader! Make a difference for children and youth in Linköping!

Do you want a meaningful and rewarding role where you can support children and young people in their education? We are now looking for a tutor/youth leader aged 18–25 for Stadsmissionen's Children and Youth Unit in Linköping.

As a tutor at Östergötland's Stadsmission, you will become an important adult for students from middle school and up. You will help them with their schoolwork, boost their self-confidence, and contribute to a safe and positive environment. In addition to tutoring, we also offer holiday and leisure activities that promote personal development, community, and meaningful free time.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a tutor and youth leader, you will be part of a team where you, together with colleagues, plan, execute, and evaluate meaningful activities and tutoring sessions. The assignment involves having a professional approach, being attentive to create trust with the children and young people participating in the activities and tutoring, as well as creating an inclusive and developing environment and good memories during the youths' upbringing.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who wants a meaningful and rewarding role as a part-time tutor/youth leader in Stadsmissionen's children and youth activities. You want to engage and be a role model for children and young people. Building relationships and inspiring others comes naturally to you, and you love coming up with creative ideas for future activities. You share Stadsmissionen's values and fundamental belief in the equal worth of all people and have a strong commitment to social issues and interest in gender equality and diversity.

This role is suitable for you if

• You want to engage and be a role model for students from middle school to high school.
• You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and have passing grades in math, Swedish, and science up to high school level.
• You share our values regarding the equal worth of all people and are passionate about gender equality and diversity.
• You are between 18-25 years old and want to provide meaningful support alongside your studies/employment.

We place great importance on personal suitability and maturity. It is also advantageous if you have good knowledge of math and science at the high school level. As a tutor/youth leader, you will receive training through tutoring education and training in being a Safe and Important Adult. During your work, you will receive support from social educators within the Children and Youth unit. We strive for a heterogeneous workgroup and see diversity as a strength.

As a tutor/youth leader, you will work in the afternoons and evenings at various schools/venues in Berga and Skäggetorp. You will engage at least twice a week. However, there will be breaks during all school holidays when we conduct leisure activities instead.
