Controller for the Budget Team at Sahlgrenska University Hospital

Together, we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe’s leading university hospital by 2032. Together with our patients, we work for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – within an integrated healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for healthcare of the highest quality, where the patient is always in focus. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, but also highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchanges nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify everyday life in the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.

About Us

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is one of Northern Europe's largest university hospitals, with a turnover of 23 billion SEK and approximately 17,000 employees.

We are now looking for a controller to join our budget team at the Hospital Common Finance Department (SGE).

The mission of SGE is to coordinate and develop the hospital's financial work at a strategic level. We work closely with the hospital's management and other finance departments to ensure uniform processes and high quality in accounting, budgeting, purchased and sold care, reporting, monitoring, and procurement.

Your Role

As a controller focusing on budgeting, you will be a key person in the hospital's finance function. You will:

  • Coordinate and participate in the hospital's budgeting work – together with a competent and supportive budget team.
  • Manage and develop the hospital's budgeting system – ensuring that the system operates optimally and contributing improvements.
  • Develop processes for simplification, quality assurance, and monitoring – creating effective working methods that make a difference.
  • Participate in the closing and monitoring processes through analysis and quality assurance.

This is a role with many points of contact as you collaborate with finance departments within the hospital and with functions in the Västra Götaland region. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence and develop working methods that contribute to the future of healthcare.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in finance (e.g., business economist, economics candidate, or equivalent).
  • Experience in qualified financial work, preferably in budgeting, accounting, and monitoring.
  • A strong interest in financial systems and digital solutions – you see opportunities and enjoy developing systems.
  • A process-oriented mindset with the ability to see both the big picture and details. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to improve working methods.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working in politically governed organizations.
  • The ability to produce analyses and visualize financial data using BI tools and planning systems (e.g., IBM Planning Analytics).

We Offer

A workplace with a strong community commitment and the opportunity to contribute to the future of healthcare. A competent team with a good collaborative culture and a focus on development. Flexible working methods and opportunities for professional development.

Warm welcome to submit your application!
