We are now looking for a Controller with a focus on EU issues who wants to take a key role in the work with financial management related to EU-funded research in an organization where quality, development, and social benefit are at the center. At a well-renowned technical university, you will step into a complex and knowledge-intensive operation where finance, research, and management work closely together.
About the role
As a Controller, you will belong to the central finance department and a unit responsible for operational controlling. You will have an overall coordination responsibility for financial matters related to EU-funded projects and act as a central advisor in the organization.
The role combines strategic responsibility with operational work. You will lead and develop working methods, routines, and processes within EU finance, while also contributing to other financial work such as year-end closing, budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up.
In summary, you will:
- Be advisory in EU finance towards economists, managers, project leaders, and researchers
- Ensure correct accounting according to internal regulations and EU financial requirements
- Coordinate budget, forecast, and year-end closing work related to EU-funded activities
- Interpret and analyze conditions from funders and other contractual parties
- Drive improvement work and development of financial processes and routines
- Contribute to the unit's other controller work and financial follow-up
We are looking for someone who
- Has a post-secondary education in finance
- Has at least 5 years of experience in qualified financial work, including accounting, budgeting, and year-end closing
- Has documented experience in project accounting within EU-funded activities in the last two years
- Has good knowledge of EU regulations and is comfortable interpreting, applying, and communicating them
- Has excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience in qualified financial work within universities or colleges
- Worked in the systems Raindance and Hypergene
As a person, you are analytical, meticulous, and structured, with high integrity in your working methods. You thrive in an advisory role with many contact points and find it easy to build trusting relationships with both economists, researchers, and managers. You have the ability to handle multiple parallel tasks, prioritize effectively, and at the same time contribute to the long-term development of working methods and processes.
About the employment
This is a consulting assignment via OIO starting on February 1, 2026. The assignment is expected to last until March 2027. Please attach a CV clearly showing your experience in EU projects with your application.
