Environmental Strategist at Göteborg Energi

Do you want to help shape the sustainable business of the future? As an Environmental Strategist with us, you will play a key role in driving and developing our environmental and climate work, as well as energy efficiency at the corporate level.

You will be part of a dedicated team that works purposefully to create sustainable value for Göteborg Energi and the community.

Your Role

In this role, you will be responsible for further developing the corporate environmental management system so that the structure is clear, logical, and meets the requirements of ISO 14001. You will build and develop our energy management system in accordance with STEMFS 2014:2 and ensure that the working methods reflect the management's guiding philosophy. An important part of your work is to develop and establish routines related to our significant environmental aspects and corporate-wide environmental compliance. You will also contribute to the development of methods for corporate-wide climate reporting according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

You will monitor and analyze the corporate overall goals and key figures within the environmental and climate area and, if necessary, prepare decision-making material for the management team. The role also involves educating and inspiring employees within your area of responsibility and ensuring that planning and follow-up occur continuously while driving necessary actions to achieve our goals.

Your Team

You will be part of our HSEQ staff, consisting of eleven dedicated employees in occupational health, environment, and quality. Together, we are responsible for driving and developing the strategic HSEQ work within the organization. In this role, you will work strategically with our existing environmental strategist to develop methods to improve our current environmental and climate work.

Your Qualifications

We prefer that you have a relevant academic degree of at least 180 credits and at least five years of professional experience in the environmental field. You also need to have good knowledge of energy management according to ISO 50001 or STEMFS 2014:2 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

You have a good understanding of the industry we operate in and it is advantageous if you have experience in project management or as a line manager. To succeed in this role, you are goal- and result-oriented, have strong analytical skills, and see the big picture – how processes, people, and business goals are interconnected. You are confident in your communication and enjoy driving development.

Göteborg Energi is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and many of our services are security classified. If this position is security classified, a security clearance will be conducted before employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
