Description

The Citizen Offices are located in five places in the city: Bergsjön, Backa, Biskopsgården, Frölunda, and Angered.

The administration has also been tasked with establishing a new office in Hammarkullen by 2026.

Job Responsibilities

A Citizen Office is a place where residents can meet municipal staff and receive advice, information, and guidance regarding the municipality's or other authorities' activities. As a community guide, you will work with conversations and meetings, primarily on a drop-in basis, but also scheduled visits may occur. The work involves providing service, information, and guidance to residents in a pedagogical manner when they contact us, primarily through visits but also by phone or email. Your main task as a community guide is to support visitors, through self-help assistance, so they can move forward with their inquiries regarding various authority matters and simultaneously take steps towards being able to independently manage their authority matters.

The Citizen Office also plays a role in strengthening local democracy and increasing residents' access to community services. Examples of this can be developing and acting as a meeting place for various events and theme meetings, often in collaboration with other organizations that need to reach out to residents. In addition to providing community guidance, one of your tasks will be to organize and coordinate this. You will have an important role in collaborating with various administrations and civil society, being a host and coordinator for different events, arranging practical preparations and preparatory meetings. In the development work, you will bring your experiences from community guidance and meetings with citizens. It is a mission where the needs of the residents drive the development of the operations.

Qualifications

We see that you have a university degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, social work, communication, or law, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent. We want you to have a genuine interest in and broad knowledge of society and public institutions. It is important that you have previous experience in creating trusting dialogues with people from different backgrounds, preferably in a multicultural context. We see that you are a curious person who wants to learn more about society, your surroundings, and people. Additionally, you have good IT skills and are comfortable with modern ways of communicating and seeking information. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and also have good knowledge of English. If you have previous work experience in providing community guidance or similar assignments within public operations or work experience from a service profession where you have daily interacted with and served customers, that is an advantage. If you also have additional language skills, we are particularly looking for those who speak Arabic or Somali. We are looking for someone who is relationship-building, collaborative, and has a good attitude in all your interactions. You are service-oriented and attentive in your conversations with others. You are driven and take responsibility for your tasks and also take the initiative to develop the operations.

Conditions

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We are looking for three permanent employees and three parental substitutes until 31/12-26. In our operations, we primarily work with two of the administration's goal areas: service and democracy and participation.

About Us

At the Democracy and Citizen Service department, we work for a simple and sustainable everyday life in an open city where everyone can participate. We work with service, participation, and equality. Good service means that residents, visitors, and businesses should experience contact with the municipality as simple and secure and receive the help they need. We coordinate, develop, and provide service through several different channels that are common to the city. We are tasked with increasing people's opportunities for local democracy, influence, and participation, both through digital tools and physical meetings.

To contribute to a sustainable and equitable everyday life, we offer advice and ensure that those who cannot manage their finances and livelihoods receive support. In our department, we have over 250 employees.
