Group Manager in the Project Staff
Now you have the chance to become a group manager in the project staff and lead our group for business development. Are you passionate about leading, developing, and achieving results together with your colleagues? Do you also have a strong interest in driving change and development work? Then this could be the role for you!
In a troubled world, we have a clear focus: to build Sweden's defense capability from the ground up. That is exactly what we do. We build, develop, and provide defense properties and fortifications that enable the actors in Sweden's total defense to operate from a secure location.
Your everyday life as a group manager
The project department at the Fortifications Agency currently has around 250 employees working across the country. The department is responsible for the authority's renovation and new construction projects and is growing rapidly due to increased investment needs.
The project staff supports the department manager in leading and directing the operations. It creates conditions for an efficient and structured working method and is responsible for budget, forecasts, follow-up, training, and development work. The project staff currently includes project administrators, business coordinators, business developers, and project controllers.
As the organization grows, we are also developing our structure. Therefore, we are now introducing a new group manager level to strengthen the operations and provide our employees with the support they need in the best possible way.
As a group manager for our business coordinators and developers, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and following up on the group's work and employees. You drive the operations together with your colleagues and are there to support them in their daily work. This means that you see and uplift the employees, help them succeed in their assignments, and create good conditions for their development.
You will also participate in parts of the change and development issues that the group is working on. The role also includes contributing to coordination, experience exchange, and continuous improvement work within the project staff. You will collaborate closely with other units within the department and with other parts of the Fortifications Agency.
As a group manager, you have operational, economic, and personnel responsibility, including responsibility for the work environment. You report to the department's staff manager. Some travel is included in the position and can be planned in advance.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with relevant education from a university or college, or equivalent competence assessed as equivalent by the employer. You also have:
- several years of experience in managerial or leadership roles within the public sector
- experience in business development
- good knowledge of administrative IT support systems
- good knowledge of Swedish both orally and in writing
- driver's license class B
It is an advantage if you have previous work experience in change management and process work. We also view positively if you have knowledge of the Fortifications Agency's operations, experience working within an organization that has protected values related to Sweden's security, and experience from the construction or real estate industry.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be collaborative and confident in your leadership style. You work in a structured manner and find it easy to find solutions even when circumstances change. We also see that you possess a good portion of endurance, patience, and humor – qualities that help you create a sustainable work climate and contribute to a positive everyday life for both yourself and your colleagues.
What do we offer you?
Together with over 1300 colleagues at the Fortifications Agency across the country, you will work with a unique property portfolio to strengthen Sweden's total defense. We are proud of the socially important mission we have, where by owning, developing, and managing properties for total defense, we contribute to a safe and free Sweden. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require their competence. We work based on the state value foundation and strive for gender balance. Equal rights and opportunities are important to us.
Here you will have good opportunities for professional development, and we work to ensure that you can maintain a good balance between work and leisure.
