About Us

Region Sörmland is responsible for areas that are important for everyone living, working, and operating in Sörmland. The area of sustainable regional development consists of approximately 150 employees and is led by the regional development director. Part of this operation is the public transport conducted under the brand Sörmlandstrafiken, whose mission is to develop an attractive, efficient, and accessible public transport system in Sörmland. The operation consists of three units: traffic development, contract management, and marketing and sales. Additionally, there is Mälartåg customer service operated on behalf of Mälardalstrafik. Employees are based in Eskilstuna.

Together with the region's municipalities, we drive the work for better public transport with the aim of getting more people to choose to travel collectively. We are responsible for the contracted bus traffic and have an important role in the large regional investment in regional train traffic through Mälardalstrafik. Our responsibility includes everything from marketing and ticket sales to actively driving or participating in larger strategic development projects aimed at improving traffic and infrastructure for our travelers within the region. Public transport is now seeking a contract manager who wants to contribute to the development and management of Public Transport's business relationships and contracts.

Your Responsibilities

As a contract manager within public transport, you will be the spider in the web for the daily work with our contracts within public transport, focusing on our traffic contracts. The role involves both driving and coordinating the work internally within the framework of our contracts as well as externally towards our contractual partners. The contract manager has a good understanding of the contract and its conditions and requirements. Based on the contract's framework, dialogue takes place with contractual partners and collaborators regarding the issues that arise during a contract period. This includes everything from business development, follow-up to disputes. The contract dialogue with our contractual partners thus becomes an important part of your everyday life. The foundation is the ongoing contractual follow-up of delivery and quality through monthly meetings with our contractual partners. Since we work in a complex organization, you will have a varied everyday life with many different issues that must be handled simultaneously. You will independently take responsibility for driving issues and investigations related to the contracts together with colleagues within sustainable regional development.

Your Competence

The role requires that you have a very good ability to absorb information, both orally and in writing, from parties with different backgrounds and education. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to integrate gathered information into a whole. The role requires a good ability to see and understand connections. The role includes producing certain written materials, such as preparation materials for the management group, which means you have a good ability to express yourself in writing.

You have a university degree in a relevant field such as economics, statistics, or engineering with a focus on business law, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You should also have experience in contract follow-up and supplier contacts. To fulfill the assignment, you also need to understand the importance of good business relationships. You have excellent knowledge of spoken and written Swedish and English.
