Educational Administrator at the Department of Special Education

The Department of Special Education is Sweden's only institution for special education and conducts interdisciplinary research and education at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels.

Each year, we meet over 1500 teacher students in various teacher programs, and around 700 students are enrolled in the department's programs from undergraduate to doctoral level, including special education programs, special teacher programs, and master's education. The department has approximately 90 employees and primarily operates at Stockholm University's newly built campus Albano.

Job Responsibilities

The role of educational administrator involves close communication and frequent contact with both students and teachers. Your main responsibilities will include educational administration for our independent master's courses as well as some academic guidance.

You will also work with educational administration for courses within teacher education programs. The position also includes working with credit transfers internally within the department and providing other administrative services to students and teachers. Other administrative tasks related to the annual operational planning may also occur.

You will work in administrative systems such as Canvas, Ladok, TimeEdit, NyA, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for a self-driven, engaged, and motivated person who is accustomed to building contacts, good at collaborating and communicating. As a person, you are solution-oriented, proactive, and interested in administrative development work. You need to be flexible, good at structuring, and accustomed to providing excellent service. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and handle both simple and more complex tasks in a humble manner. In this recruitment, great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant field, or other education combined with work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Several years of work experience in relevant areas for the position.
  • Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

Desirable

  • You have previous experience in the higher education sector or have worked in other public organizations.
  • Knowledge of the university world and familiarity with regulations regarding university education.
  • Experience working with the systems and programs that Stockholm University uses to administer student matters.
  • Experience from teacher education and/or special education university education.

About the Employment

The position is full-time and a temporary position until 2027-08-30. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. We would like you to start as soon as possible, and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
