Temporary Position as Administrative Employee at the Church of Sweden in Haninge

Our fantastic employee is taking a leave of absence for studies, which is why we are looking for a temporary replacement for our administrative unit at the Church of Sweden in Haninge, with good chances for extension!

About the Role

In this role, you contribute to a socially important function by meeting residents and visitors at cemeteries and burial sites via email, phone, and sometimes in person.

Your task is to ensure that records are kept accurate and accessible, as well as to provide support and answer questions from people at different stages of life. As one of the first points of contact with the Church of Sweden, you are an important link in creating security and quality throughout the organization.

Main Responsibilities & Team

  • Receive and manage the unit's incoming visits, emails, and phone calls, with phone hours every weekday from 9 AM to 12 PM.
  • Process cases related to the responsibilities of the burial law, such as grave rights cases, grave care applications, and similar.
  • Coordinate information to other units and act as an expert in your areas of responsibility.

In addition, you will support the parish and service activities with, for example, customer and financial management.

You will be part of the administration and booking team, which consists of six employees. My name is Tobias Jonson, and I lead the recruitment. I have been the head of the unit since 2024 but have been in various positions within the parish for the past ten years. My leadership is based on trust and solutions.

Qualifications for the Role

To be considered for the role, we would like you to:

  • Share the values of the Church of Sweden.
  • Have a high school education.
  • Be accustomed to following, developing, and taking responsibility for routines.
  • Be familiar with operational support systems and handle Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams fluently.
  • Master Swedish in speech and writing fluently, as well as have basic knowledge of English.
  • Have a driver's license with B category, as some tasks will be performed in Österhaninge.

It is an advantage if you:

  • Have insight into the burial law, administrative law, other applicable legislation, or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Have experience in non-profit organizations and/or public administration.
  • Are a user of the church's IT systems, including Aveny & Public 360.
  • Have previous experience working with volunteers.
  • Have experience in basic financial management.

We Offer

The position is a full-time temporary position until December 31, 2028, with a chance for extension, located at Västerhaninge parish house and/or S:t Eskil's church. We apply a certain degree of remote work after dialogue with the immediate supervisor and annual working hours to promote a good balance between work and private life.

We offer a wellness allowance of 4,000 SEK per year and subsidized lunches through Edenred.

The decided salary range for the position is between 33,500 – 40,000 SEK depending on experience and qualifications.

Start date according to agreement, and a probationary period may apply.

Upon hiring, a criminal record check will be required, and for permanent employment, you may be placed in a crisis role as part of our shared responsibility to strengthen society's preparedness.
