The Department of Digitalization, IT, and Telephony (DIT) is an operation that started in August 2023.

Our mission is to help increase the pace, delivery quality, and efficiency of the city's digitalization projects. Since our inception, we have built a team of internal consultants with extensive experience in project management, business development, and change management. By 2025, we have expanded our service offerings to the city's administrations and companies with expertise in system development and system architecture. In the past six months, we have further strengthened our service offerings with two data protection officers. Due to high demand from the city's administrations and companies for our services, we are now recruiting two more colleagues who want to contribute to the city's development in data protection.

We are Currently Looking for Two Data Protection Specialists

Where the main focus of the tasks will be to assist administrations and companies in operational data protection work. You will work closely with the data protection officers in their strategic role. The role of data protection specialist is new, and here you will have great opportunities to shape the role and the offering to administrations and companies together with the data protection officers.

Your Role

As a data protection specialist, you will have a central and operational role in developing and supporting several administrations and companies and their operations in various data protection issues. You will, among other things:

  • Work closely and pedagogically with operations to ensure that requirements for personal data handling are integrated into all projects and processes
  • Conduct impact assessments regarding data protection together with operations of the information handled for e.g. procurements or new business processes
  • Have a central role when operations need to establish data processing agreements
  • Monitor, lead, and assist in reporting and handling personal data incidents and vulnerabilities regarding personal data processing
  • Participate in process development as well as implementation and improvement of operational data protection work
  • Support data protection officers, e.g. in the work with the operations' annual reports on data protection.

Your Competence and Experience

To succeed in the role, we want you to have:

  • Relevant academic degree, for example in law, information security, or IT
  • Solid knowledge of GDPR, legal regulations, guidelines, and regulations as well as other relevant data protection legislation
  • Documented experience of working with operational data protection issues within the public sector or another large organization
  • Practical experience in handling personal data incidents, conducting impact assessments (DPIA), and systematically working with record-keeping
  • Establishing data processing agreements
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Understanding of cybersecurity and the standards that underpin systematic data protection work, such as the ISO 27000 series
  • Experience with the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL)
  • Experience in conducting knowledge-enhancing initiatives such as training and feedback
  • Experience working consultatively with operations
  • Experience in information classification
  • Project management experience.
