About our job opening

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a medical assistant in our outpatient care within the hematology and oncology clinic as well as day care.

We can offer you a varied and stimulating job where you focus on providing excellent patient care in a development-oriented and interdisciplinary environment where we work as a team.

Your tasks may vary slightly depending on which part of outpatient care you work in, but can include telephone advice, ordering preparations and handling test results, monitoring side effects, initiating treatments, and administrative tasks such as ordering chemotherapy, tests, and scheduling patients. If interested, there is also the opportunity to take peripheral samples, perform checks, and more.

Your tasks will be carried out under the supervision or immediate control of the responsible nurse/doctor.

You will work daytime, Monday to Friday. The position is a temporary employment for the summer of 2026. We would like you to be able to work eight weeks (or more) during the period of weeks 23-34.

About us

The Hematology and Oncology Unit consists of an oncology clinic, hematology clinic, hematology day care, oncology day care, and an inpatient ward. We specialize in caring for patients with hematological and oncological conditions. Cancer care is constantly evolving, with much research ongoing, and many of our patients participate in research studies conducted within the unit, creating a development-oriented and exciting work environment.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is studying in the medical program and has passed up to and including semester 9 or more. You have good communication skills and are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have taken a course in oncology, have previous experience with patient interaction, and are familiar with our patient administrative systems Melior and/or Elvis. You are meticulous, have good collaboration skills, and are a confident person with a patient-focused approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
