About the Department

MAVA/356 is a medical acute care unit with 27 beds from Monday to Friday and 21 beds during the weekend. 3 of these beds are IMA beds with the possibility of a higher level of care.

Our mission is to quickly provide qualified care, treatment, and nursing to severely ill, unstable medical patients. Our patients primarily come from the emergency department, but also from ICU and other departments in the hospital. The diagnoses vary widely among the patients we care for, with the most common being chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmia, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and intoxications.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with experience. Previous experience in emergency care is an advantage.

Our short lengths of stay mean a high patient flow both in and out of the department, and to thrive here, you should enjoy being busy and constantly meeting new people. You should be flexible to handle sudden situations with maintained calm. You should be independent in your work and have a strong interest in improving care in the medical acute care unit for both patients and staff.

Furthermore, you should be ambitious and have a good willingness to learn new things. You have a positive attitude, a good approach, and you work together with your colleagues and the unit manager for the best interest of the patient. Our IMA beds will offer you, who have worked for a few years, new development opportunities. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
