Gothenburg Remand Prison is one of Sweden's five secure remand prisons located in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's facility in central Gothenburg. Gothenburg Remand Prison has capacity for approximately 400 clients. At Gothenburg Remand Prison, we employ correctional officers, psychologists, nurses, administrators, and intelligence operators. In total, we are about 300 employees who work daily with the important mission of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and to break the vicious cycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service conducts certain open health and medical care, which means that all prisons and remand prisons have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, there are general practitioners and psychiatrists at the clinics. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, but you will also assess which applicants should see a doctor. This means that you will work with both somatic and psychiatric health care for the inmates, assist during medical appointments, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal.

QUALIFICATIONS

In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have a high level of integrity and the ability to make correct judgments and priorities. You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and you have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who is/has:

• Licensed nurse
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

Meritorious:

• A relevant specialization or further education for the employer, such as in psychiatry, emergency care, or outpatient care
• Work experience in the profession
• Relevant language skills
