NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 inhabitants. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. About the Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic

We are one of the largest pediatric and adolescent clinics in the country, consisting of 2 wards, a neonatal unit, and a large children’s department.

Within the clinic, there is a children's outpatient clinic located in both Uddevalla and at NÄL. Emergency services are conducted at NÄL.

We have newly built facilities designed for the future of neonatal care. This gives us the conditions to provide good and safe care based on the needs of our patients and their families. This means we can offer privacy and seclusion, conduct advanced intensive care, and have a working method focused on privacy and hygiene.

We have specialists in all pediatric subspecialties, and you will work alongside 38 colleagues. We work with a broad spectrum of pediatrics, from neonatology from week 28 to children up to 18 years old. We have approximately 3,000 deliveries and 20,000 outpatient visits per year. The neonatal unit has 12 care places, of which 6 are intensive care places.

We investigate, treat, and care for children born from week 28 to full-term children who become ill during their first week of life. We also receive children born earlier than week 28, but they are initially delivered and cared for in Gothenburg, which is our regional hospital.

Our operations range from high-tech intensive care to general nursing and observation. We have a functioning neonatal home care, and children can now be discharged from inpatient care to home with continued support from the neonatal unit to a greater extent and earlier in life.

About the Position

We are looking for you who are a resident in neonatology or a specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine, preferably with subspecialization in neonatology.

You will work with advanced neonatal care with intensive care. You will be part of a well-functioning neonatal team with 4 neonatologists as colleagues. On-call duties are included in the position, and as a subspecialized neonatologist, you will participate in the neonatal backup on-call team. If interested, there is an opportunity to work with general pediatrics or another subject area at our children's outpatient clinic.

We would like you to have an interest in participating in development work within neonatology.

Qualifications

Resident in neonatology or licensed physician with specialist training in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Preferably subspecialized in neonatology. Good Swedish in both spoken and written form is a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
