As a school nurse in Borås municipality, you are an important part of a cross-professional student health team consisting of the principal, school counselor, school psychologist, special educator, and school nurse. You are centrally employed but placed at 2-3 schools led by the principal. In this position, your placement will be at Borgstenaskolan, Gula Skolan, and Adapted Primary School Fjärding.
In addition to your student health team, you will work closely with the school's other professionals. You will regularly meet your school nurse colleagues in various forums, such as workplace meetings, professional networks, smaller development groups, supervision forums, or in other close collaborations. As support in your work, you have a professional manager, school doctor, a medically responsible manager, and our experienced school nurses who are always just a conversation away. We are a wonderful team where everyone supports each other.
Job ResponsibilitiesWith the educational mission in focus, you work to promote and support the student's learning, development, and health, as well as to prevent ill health so that the student achieves educational goals. The work involves following the student's health, well-being, and development, among other things by offering all students health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations according to the national vaccination program for children. The tasks are varied, and you plan and structure your work independently throughout the school year.
As a school nurse, you support student health work by contributing expertise in medicine and care. Together with students, guardians, and school staff, you work to provide students with knowledge about healthy lifestyles and other factors that contribute to health and well-being. The mission is primarily health-promoting and preventive, but remedial and supportive measures are also an important part. The student health team also plays a significant role in the school's systematic quality work.
You have good opportunities for regular professional development in the form of digital training, courses, professional networks, collegial learning, supervision, and joint professional development days together with other professionals in student health.

QualificationsYou are a licensed nurse and have completed specialist nursing education for school nurses, specialist nursing education with a focus on health and medical care for children and young people, or specialist nursing education with a focus on district nursing.
Experience working with children and young people in areas such as student health, habilitation, pediatric care, child health care, or primary care is an advantage.
You have a nice and warm demeanor, you find it easy to collaborate and build good relationships with students of different ages, guardians, and colleagues. Your approach is professional and inclusive, and you have sound values that align with the principles of Borås municipality.
You are skilled at collaborating across professions while being comfortable working without the presence of professional colleagues. You have good self-awareness, you know what you are knowledgeable about, and you have the ability to ask for help and support when you need it. You have good organizational skills, you enjoy planning and prioritizing your work independently. You have good knowledge of laws and frameworks for your work but also have the ability to be solution-oriented and flexible within these frameworks. You work evidence-based and have a desire to be part of the development of the work within the medical efforts of student health. You have extensive experience with documentation in digital systems and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

A driver's license is required.
