JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in elderly care

In addition to being a companion and support during social activities such as coffee breaks and walks, the tasks in elderly care can involve helping with personal care and daily chores such as cleaning, preparing breakfast, and managing medications. In a nursing home, several elderly individuals live in the same building but in their own rooms, where you and your colleagues work together to provide support and assistance to the residents in their daily lives. In home care, you provide support and assistance to individuals in their own homes, traveling to the client’s home to perform the tasks that the person has been granted in their service. To work in home care, a driver's license for a manual transmission is often required, as you will need to travel between different residences, but in some home care areas, there is the option to walk or bike.

Work with individuals with disabilities

You can also work a summer job with individuals of all ages who have psychological, physical, and intellectual disabilities. The work involves offering support in daily life based on the individual's needs, conditions, and wishes. This can include support with personal care, assistance with cooking and daily chores, or planning and participating in various leisure activities. There is often freedom to structure the day according to the users' interests and wishes. In a group home/service apartment, several individuals live together or in the same building but in their own apartments. In personal assistance, you work in a person's own home. You can also work in daily activities, where individuals with disabilities receive meaningful engagement through various individualized activities. In our short-term homes, you work with children and young people who have various disabilities and who stay there for a limited period. The purpose may be to provide them with a change of environment or to give relatives relief in their daily lives.

QUALIFICATIONS

To work with us, you must be at least 18 years old. In certain operations, you who are 17 years old and have completed year 2 of the care program can work with us.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in working with people, where you in your role are independent, secure, and attentive to others' needs and wishes. The work suits you if you can work irregular hours, are flexible, and enjoy collaborating. You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Since documentation is part of the work, you need to be able to handle digital tools.

It is beneficial if you have a healthcare and social care education, child and youth education, or previous experience in the field, but it is not a requirement. A B driver's license is desirable for several of our roles. Wanting to care for, support, and develop other people is one of the most needed qualities in our society. If you get a summer job with us, you must be able to show an extract from the Police's criminal record.

Certified nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title certified nursing assistant within healthcare and social care. Read more on the National Board of Health and Welfare's website.
