Description

The Support Unit (Kungälv Municipality's child and student health) works on behalf of the municipality's preschools, pedagogical care, and primary schools.

The unit consists of two unit managers, school nurses (13), psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, special educators with cross-municipal assignments, and the municipality's attendance team. At the Support Unit, we have broad expertise and value interdisciplinary collaboration. With us, you will work with engaged and experienced colleagues and contribute to the development of student health work in schools and at the Support Unit. Daily work is carried out at the school(s) where you will work, on behalf of the principal and in collaboration with the school's student health team.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse within the medical intervention of student health (EMI), you primarily work health-promoting and preventive by monitoring the student's health, development, school environment, and lifestyle, and contribute to supporting students' development to achieve the goals in school. You are part of the school's student health team where you contribute with medical expertise and work independently to prioritize, plan, and implement EMI's basic program, which all students are offered, including individual health conversations, health examinations, vaccinations, and school doctor appointments, as well as performing simpler medical interventions. Your work is varied and developing, and you have close access to experienced, engaged colleagues and other professionals in schools and at the Support Unit. We document in the journal system Prorenata.

School nurses have regular professional meetings every other week. As a new member of our team, you will receive an experienced mentor who will adapt the introduction to your needs.

This position primarily involves work at a primary and middle school, but may also include some work at a secondary school.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: Licensed nurse and specialist nursing program with a focus on health and medical care for children and adolescents, district nurse, or school nurse.
• Experience working as a school nurse, with children and adolescents, or in primary care, child health care is meritorious.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
• It is advantageous if you have a B driver's license and your own car.

As a school nurse, you need to be flexible, have a good ability to plan and organize your work and days, be responsible, and have a good ability to work independently. You should have a genuine interest in the school's students and be able to collaborate and build relationships with children and adolescents, guardians, and colleagues.
