Childcare Worker at Nygårdsskolan
Are you curious about a workplace where play, learning, and relationships go hand in hand and want to be part of an engaging team with high flexibility and colleagues who value collaboration?
Welcome to Nygårdsskolan – a place where creativity and engagement can flourish together!
Your Responsibilities
The starting point for you as a childcare worker in the after-school program is your mission, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), to stimulate students' development and learning and to offer students a meaningful leisure time. Together with the work team, you will plan, implement, and document the pedagogical work in the after-school program.
As a childcare worker, you have knowledge of the after-school program's curriculum and other relevant governing documents. You are expected to follow the norms and values set by the curriculum and contribute to the implementation of the program's mission. The activities should be based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but also challenge the students further by inspiring them to new discoveries. In the teaching, students should be offered a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning.
This role means that you will combine work in both the classroom and the after-school program. In your role as a childcare worker, you are expected to collaborate effectively with colleagues and be flexible in working with different student groups and individuals. You are also responsible for continuous communication with guardians about the students' well-being, development, and learning.
Your Workplace
Nygårdsskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 300 students, most of whom have multicultural backgrounds. The school has newly renovated, fresh facilities and is located in the Skäggetorp district. The school has a pleasant schoolyard of about 14,000 square meters, where new play equipment is available to promote play, creativity, movement, and social interaction.
The school offers after-school care for students in grades F-3 and open after-school activities for students in grades 4-6. We have a well-functioning student health team, a popular after-school program, and developed environmental work at the school. We take pride in our staffed school library with a well-developed book collection.
Nygårdsskolan is characterized by a very high level of engagement and flexibility. We are committed to providing our employees with the right conditions for the mission. Furthermore, we place great qualitative importance on ensuring that collaboration between the school's staff, students, and guardians works well. We believe that high quality is achieved through active value-based work and that the school's employees, regardless of their tasks, are involved in initiating both influence and analysis of the operations.
Welcome to Nygårdsskolan!
Who We Are Looking For
We require that you have an education as a childcare worker from adult education or have completed the Child and Leisure Program in high school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-driven activities as an employee, through internships, or voluntarily. We consider it meritorious if you have experience in planning and documenting pedagogical work in after-school programs based on the curriculum (Lgr22) and have worked with students with challenging behaviors and/or NPF.
Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is to ensure that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and implement the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
In your role as a childcare worker, you create good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts that occur in your professional role. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive manner in teaching and the school's daily life. You lead the work with the children through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also involves working with your colleagues on the applicable goals and quality standards for the school.
In this recruitment process, we use tests in the selection.
