You get a glimpse straight into the future and a chance to be a role model for the adult world. Preschool teachers have a broad and important role where you contribute to creating a safe, developing, and educational preschool for our youngest citizens.

Stormyrens Preschool is a newly built preschool in Stockfallet that opened in August 2023. The preschool has six departments, three studios, a square for meals and other activities, a staircase with books for cozy reading moments, and a construction square. Both in architecture, indoor environment, and outdoor environment, there is inspiration from the forest with earthy colors and department names related to the forest. The outdoor environment is creative, nature-inspired, and divided into different play zones and height levels.

Responsibilities

At Stormyrens Preschool, we work with a project-based approach where we start from the children's interests and curiosity. In your role as a preschool teacher, you and your colleagues observe what the children are interested in and select areas to work on based on our theme "Me, you, the world, and our values together". Through this, the children get to be co-researchers, and you explore their ideas together.

As a preschool teacher, you, along with your colleagues, have a pedagogical responsibility for planning, evaluation, analysis, and development of the operations. Your colleagues will consist of other preschool teachers and childcare workers. In your work, you ensure that each child is given the opportunity for education, teaching, learning, and influence. Your work as a preschool teacher is characterized by a clear respect for each individual and a good relationship with children, guardians, and colleagues.

The position is a fixed-term employment from February 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed preschool teacher or is awaiting their license. To fit into the role, it is important that you have a stable and mature personality that can handle the challenges present in preschool. Your approach towards children and colleagues is characterized by empathy and understanding. Since no day is the same in preschool, you need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances. Your ability to be flexible in your working method will create a positive and educational environment for our children.

You will be a safe point for the children in their development and learning, which requires a calm and reliable approach where your presence becomes support and security. It is important that you can collaborate with colleagues, children, and guardians. Therefore, you should be able to communicate effectively, listen, and share ideas.
