Description

The Music Academy Ingesund (MHI) is part of the Department of Artistic Studies at Karlstad University and constitutes the university's second campus in Arvika.

MHI is a well-renowned college with good student recruitment. Here, a subject teacher's degree in music is offered, focusing on upper secondary school, with the intention of educating artistic educators with competence for both upper secondary and primary schools, as well as music and culture schools. MHI and Karlstad University also now have the right to issue artistic degrees at the bachelor's and master's levels.

The percussion program at MHI is extensive and multifaceted, with teaching in Music 60 credits (M60), College Music Line (MLC), and the music teacher program. The education spans the entire percussion area – from orchestral and chamber music to melodic percussion, drum set, marching and snare drums, percussion, and ensemble work. MHI also has a unique profile in traditional drumming and Swedish drumming history through the development of the course Traditional Drumming, the first university course in Sweden on the subject.

We are now seeking a university lecturer in music with a focus on percussion who wants to contribute to our solid educational environment and further develop this unique profile area.
