Rudsskolan (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/rudsskolan) is a middle school for students in grades 7 to 9, with approximately 540 students. Students come to Rudsskolan from several schools, both within the municipality and from other municipalities. We strive to ensure that every student feels safe and achieves high goals. The high goal achievement in previous years is seen as evidence of engaged students and teachers working in good collaboration with guardians. Students' influence over their own learning is crucial for their results. Our active work with safety and a conducive learning environment, where proximity and presence are central to us.

Responsibilities

With us, you will teach Swedish as a second language and Swedish. You will create a learning environment that is both engaging and educational. You will plan, implement, and evaluate lessons together with your students to ensure that everyone receives the support they need to reach their goals. Your focus will be on making learning meaningful and fun, so that every student feels included and inspired. You will also be part of developing our school library.

You will play an important role in supporting and motivating students, especially those with different language backgrounds. By building relationships and creating a safe atmosphere in the classroom, you help students grow both academically and personally. Your collaboration with colleagues and guardians is central to promoting a holistic view of learning and development. Some mentoring is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach Swedish as a second language and Swedish for grades 7-9.

You enjoy working with young people and have a good ability to create positive relationships and study environments with them. You are creative and engaged in your teaching and have good knowledge of digital tools. You have a good pedagogical insight and enjoy working independently, taking initiative, and collaborating with colleagues. Your ability to build relationships and collaborate is central to contributing to an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. It is an advantage if you have worked with newly arrived students.
