Norrstrand School is looking for an inspiring music teacher for the school's music classes

You now have a unique opportunity to become a music teacher for Norrstrand's music classes. The music profile at Norrstrand School means that students have about 200 minutes of music per week. The music education focuses on choir singing. Through singing, students become acquainted with the various building blocks and main elements of music. The education also includes music theory, instrument knowledge, ensemble playing, and music creation.

Responsibilities

As a music teacher for the music classes, you will teach music for grades 4-9 where all students have taken an entrance exam. This allows you to work with your students on a higher level. Together with our other music teacher, you will plan and coordinate the annual concerts that are part of the music classes' schedule, such as the Lucia concert at Karlstad CCC together with the Wermland Opera's orchestra.

You will accompany on piano during both music lessons and concerts and also teach grades 1-4 outside the profile. The role also includes mentorship for a 7th-grade class, and you will belong to one of the work teams at the upper secondary school.

The position is a one-year substitute starting April 13th or by agreement. The scope of the position can be discussed.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed music teacher. It is an advantage if you have experience in choir pedagogy, leading children's and youth choirs, music pedagogical education, or cantor training. As a person, you are a secure and engaged educator who wants to be involved in the students' development and learning. Your creativity will be an obvious part of the planning and implementation of the school's musical projects.
