Urban Development Strategist for Bromölla Municipality

The Urban Development Unit has over 20 employees and is primarily located in the municipal building in Bromölla, but also at the Bromölla municipal recycling center.

The areas of work encompass the entire urban development process, from overarching strategic levels to operational detail levels. We work with, for example, comprehensive planning, detailed planning, land and development, streets/traffic, lighting, parks and green planning, mapping/surveying/GIS, waste management, recycling centers, and environmental strategic work.

Due to retirement, there is now an opportunity for a new urban development strategist to join an engaged unit where everyone works with great trust and in a positive work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this both strategic and operational role, you will proactively, solution-focused, and independently contribute to the continued development and attractiveness of Bromölla Municipality. You will play a central role in initiating, driving, and coordinating your work in dialogue with relevant parties both within and outside the organization. You will ensure that projects are carried out with good quality and in accordance with the municipality's set goals. The role is closely tied to the operations manager.

As an urban development strategist, you will be a key person in the entire urban development process as well as in the further development of Bromölla Municipality. The work is conducted in close dialogue with other operations as well as with elected politicians in Bromölla Municipality.

You will be responsible for matters related to the municipality's land holdings and represent the municipality as a property owner towards the public, businesses, and construction actors. You will lead development projects from start to finish where the municipality is the landowner and is responsible for contracts, negotiations, and property law issues. You will handle cases such as easements, leases, land purchases, and land sales. There may also be some investigative work regarding, for example, political motions and initiative matters.

The position is relatively newly established, so you will have great freedom to shape the work yourself.

QUALIFICATIONS

You aim to provide good service to those living and working in Bromölla Municipality and create trust-building relationships, both externally and internally. You have an understanding of your assignment and can take responsibility for planning your work based on set priorities, goals, and the needs of the operations.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of relevant legislation such as the Land Code, the Property Formation Act, and the Planning and Building Act. We see that you have a relevant university education in, for example, urban development, law, or engineering, or have other experiences that the employer deems equivalent. The position also requires that you have a very good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish. We place great importance on you fitting into the workgroup.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have previously worked within municipal administration in the field of urban development.

Generally good IT skills. Training in relevant systems will be provided at the workplace. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
