Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a temporary property manager for the Primary School section at the Property Management Unit at City Properties. The Property Management Unit is responsible for the management and development of Malmö city's properties for schools, preschools, social housing, offices, and facilities as well as culture and leisure. The unit's mission is to provide suitable premises and outdoor environments while maintaining the functional values of the properties. Approximately 120 employees work within the unit, distributed across 8 sections managing around 600 properties.
Your task as a property manager is to have overall responsibility for a number of properties, the majority of which will be primary schools. You will be responsible for daily contact with the client and our operational contractors, as well as actions and controls related to regulatory requirements. Your tasks also include planning and implementing maintenance measures and operational adjustments, financial responsibility for your objects, budget and forecasting work, procurements (such as direct procurements), and various investigations. You will also closely collaborate with the group's employees, including financial managers, land managers, technical managers, and other property managers.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university degree of at least 180 credits, for example from the property management program or another education that the employer deems equivalent. You also have at least 1 year of experience in property management. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a manual B driver's license are required for the position.
The following experiences/knowledge are meritorious:
- Experience in planning and executing construction projects.
- Experience in carrying out projects in properties with ongoing operations.
- Knowledge of property economics and property law.
- Knowledge of public procurement according to LOU.
We are looking for someone who wants to work with primary schools and has the ability to take great responsibility for their properties. You need to be structured and self-driven with good planning skills. You are responsible for your own time and make independent priorities. As a person, you are secure, stable, and have self-awareness as well as good collaboration skills. In the role of property manager, it is important that you are calm, attentive, and receptive in your interactions, and through this find solutions together with space users and contractors.
About the Workplace
The City Properties' 180 employees manage Malmö city's properties for schools, childcare, elderly care, culture, and leisure. The portfolio amounts to over 1.8 million square meters and generates an annual turnover of approximately 2 billion SEK. Our most important task is to meet our space users' needs for well-functioning premises and outdoor environments.
The Service Administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transport services to IT and responding to citizens in Malmö city's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green areas, and beaches, manage all of Malmö city's buildings, and ensure that our school students receive good and nutritious food.
