About the position

As the finishing products part of our production process, plate production at the Oxelösund is crucial to SSAB’s success and global reputation. At SSAB Special Steels, we’re seeking a talented and driven Business Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll support and challenge our production organization and contribute directly to the continued success and market leadership of our premium plate products.

Our team is composed of six skilled professionals in business controlling who work cross-functionally and maintain a close collaboration with the production department. Our goal is to ensure optimal operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement within the production processes. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in driving financial reporting and analysis, ensuring that our decision-making processes are informed by accurate and timely data.

Main responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reporting packages to support decision-making.
• Provide insights into production performance and financial results, enabling fact-based decision-making.

Financial Planning & Performance Management

• Lead and administer financial planning processes and systems, aligning them with operational plans.
• Develop and manage reporting systems and processes, ensuring high-quality, efficient outputs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in cost efficiency, productivity, and operational processes.

Compliance & Internal Control

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting principles, managing key activities such as cost accruals and CapEx reporting.
• Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
• Collaborate on financial improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing processes and systems.

About You - To excel in this role, you should have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in finance or business controlling, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create meaningful insights from complex data.
• Technical aptitude and a willingness to learn and use various IT tools.
• A genuine drive for improvement, problem-solving abilities, and a results-oriented mindset.
• A service-minded approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Familiarity with BI systems like Power BI & Hypergene Eos and accounting systems like SAP is a strong advantage.
• Fluency in Swedish and English.
