Assistant Store Manager with Dairy Responsibility

Are you driven by business acumen and enjoy leading and developing others? Then you might be the right person for us!

With approximately 650 stores in Sweden and 3.4 million members, Coop is Sweden's only member-owned grocery chain. We are owned and operated by individual cooperative associations across the country, and the brand is owned by the Cooperative Union. With us, you will find everything you need for both everyday life and weekends, always in a sustainable spirit.

We are now looking for an Assistant Store Manager with dairy responsibility for our Coop Nässjö store. We expect you to have industry knowledge and business acumen to support and drive a successful grocery store. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will primarily work as other store salespeople with all tasks that occur in the store, including in the delicatessen, but with the difference that you are responsible for the Dairy Department and are the Store Manager's right hand. You will have an exciting role where you will have the opportunity to work with sales in the store and occasionally take on the role of Store Manager, especially when the regular Store Manager is absent. The role offers great opportunities but also places high demands on you as a person.

We see that you not only have a sense for business and a natural talent for leadership but also have a pronounced sense of order and attention to detail, as the position also involves a lot of administration. By being a role model for your salespeople, you inspire them to perform at their best every day. You will face an exciting future, so we hope you are innovative and creative in your way of working, have the drive to create sales pressure, and inspire customers to enjoy shopping.

The role requires that you enjoy working physically and pitch in where needed, and that you are structured and find it exciting to have economic and strategic responsibility. Together with your colleagues and the regular Store Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the store is sales-oriented, continuously developing, and attractive to always exceed our customers' expectations.

We place great importance on your leadership as leading and developing employees is a significant part of your daily life. To succeed in this, you must be able to communicate easily, be clear in your leadership, be inspiring, and use your social sensitivity.

We see that you have experience and education in retail, so you know what it takes to create an efficient and profitable business. If you also have experience working with the administrative tasks involved in running a store, that is a significant merit. An extra plus is if you are familiar with our systems SO, CAO, and CKS.

Coop offers you an exciting and stimulating managerial job in a business with all opportunities for you who want to develop.

The position is a permanent part-time employment of 30 hours/week with a desired start date as soon as possible. Working hours vary, and work in the evenings and weekends occurs. Recruitment is ongoing, and the position may therefore be filled before the application deadline.

If you want to know more about the position, contact Store Manager Evelina Ekman at phone: 010-745 06 70 email: [email protected]

We value the qualities that a balanced age and gender distribution as well as ethnic and cultural diversity bring to the business.

Welcome with your application along with a personal letter and CV as soon as possible. Apply via Coop.se

  • The position requires experience and competence in retail regarding sales and preferably in leadership
  • Experience working with dairy and/or manual delicatessen counters is an advantage
  • Documented good experience in leading staff is an advantage
  • Documented experience in leading change and improvement work is an advantage
  • Computer literacy regarding the Office package
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement

Coop Väst AB has over 940,000 members and currently operates 184 Coop stores with a total net turnover of approximately 9.3 billion SEK. The cooperative area extends from Strömstad to Laholm in the West and from Västervik to Borgholm in the East.

Coop is one of Sweden's largest employers with many challenging jobs. We are on an exciting transformation journey to meet the future food customers just as well and naturally in our physical stores as on Coop.se.

The ongoing change involves many challenges but also opportunities. And you are never alone. If there is something we are particularly proud of, it is our employees. By successfully recruiting many competent employees, we work together towards the future.

The new Coop will stand for attractive store experiences with affordable food, strong private labels, a unique membership program, and clear leadership in ecology, health, and sustainability. In short: We want to be the positive force in Swedish grocery retail.
