The Gastroenterology Department in Malmö has 18 inpatient beds and cares for patients with gastrointestinal diseases, that is, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Patients come from emergency departments and acute wards or as direct admissions from home. Sometimes they come through our outpatient clinic. About 45 staff members work in the department.

The department is characterized by a good working climate with close collaboration among all colleagues in the interdisciplinary team. Work is conducted through a person-centered approach with the patient in focus. The team also consists of four specialist nurses and one specialist nursing assistant whose main task is to support the delivery of good and evidence-based care every day. Unit manager Katja works with a present leadership style in a flat organization where meetings always focus on improvements and development opportunities.

Our goal is for care to be individually tailored and characterized by continuity, meaningfulness, and participation for our patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will be offered a varied job with high job satisfaction. You will work with patient care and operational development, which takes place through opportunities to work on projects by joining various project groups that drive the work forward. In consultation with the interdisciplinary team, you will also plan, execute, develop, and evaluate nursing measures and the patient's health status. Actions taken and health status are documented in the Melior journal system.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the Socialstyrelsen's requirements for protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures. You also have knowledge and/or experience in acute care/healthcare. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. It is an advantage if you have several years of experience working as a nursing assistant and experience with Melior. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have been part of the development of operations and patient safety work.

You have an easy time communicating and collaborating and have an interest in both your own and the department's development within the work area.
