In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that bubble with life. Here we want things, tell about them, and come just as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to take your place on the journey!
The Community Planning Administration is facing an exciting transformation journey that will strengthen our ability to contribute to Trelleborg's growth and development. Starting from January 1, 2026, we plan to implement a new organization – a modern and sustainable structure that prepares us to meet future challenges and opportunities.
With a clear vision of being at the forefront, we create conditions for innovation, security, and long-term development. The new organization will consist of three departments: the rescue service, the building and environmental department, and the planning and geodata department. Each department will have two units and will be complemented by a common administrative unit, giving us the strength to work efficiently and in coordination.
Together, we shape an organization that not only follows development – we lead it. Our forward spirit and commitment will make Trelleborg an even more attractive and sustainable place to live, work, and thrive.
The Workplace
The rescue service in Trelleborg Municipality consists of a full-time organization and three part-time areas.
The full-time organization has staffing around the clock with a team leader and four firefighters at the station, as well as a duty officer on standby. The rescue service operates together with Vellinge and Skurup municipalities according to an agreement. This includes a joint administration and management organization managed from Trelleborg. In 2020, the Trelleborg rescue service moved into a newly built fire station, providing you with opportunities to work in a unique workplace with a strong focus on healthy firefighters.
We are a total of about 150 employees distributed across the full-time station and eight RIB stations, as well as administration. We are now looking for two instructors with a focus on healthcare for hourly employment. You will play an important role in our internal skills development and ensure that our employees have the right knowledge to act safely and professionally in emergency situations.
Job Responsibilities
As an instructor with a focus on healthcare, you will be responsible for conducting internal training that strengthens our firefighters' ability to act in emergency situations. You will hold both practical and theoretical training sessions and adapt the content according to the participants' experience and needs, ensuring that each training session is understandable, safe, and relevant. The work also involves developing and quality-assuring training materials and pedagogical methods to ensure they are current and uniform. An important part of the assignment is to build good relationships with our stations and be a stable, clear, and safe training leader. You will also contribute to developing our routines for follow-up and quality assurance of training. The work mainly takes place in the evenings at our RIB stations and involves approximately 50–60 hours of work per year.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you need to be a licensed nurse and a specialist-trained ambulance nurse. You should have experience in practical healthcare work, preferably from emergency care or ambulance care, as this provides the competence required to train others in acute medical procedures. The role requires you to have a good ability to lead groups in learning situations and to adapt the training level according to the participants' conditions. You need to express yourself clearly and pedagogically in both speech and writing and have the ability to create safety even in exercises that may be perceived as stressful. Since you often work independently, you need to be able to plan, implement, and follow up on training with high quality and be calm, stable, and action-oriented in situations resembling real emergencies.
It is advantageous if you have experience as an instructor, mentor, or training leader, or if you have previously worked on developing training materials and pedagogical setups. Experience from RIB operations or other emergency services is valuable, as is familiarity with working systematically with feedback and improvement work in learning environments.
