The Oncology Department Radiation Treatment belongs to the area of operations (VO) hematology, oncology, and radiation physics and currently operates in Lund, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Kristianstad.

Our modern radiation treatment unit in Lund consists of a preparation area with two CT machines and an MR magnet camera from GE. The unit also has a treatment area with twelve radiation treatment machines, X-ray treatment, reception activities, brachytherapy, and isotope therapy. We provide radiation treatment for all existing cancer diagnoses for both adults and children. We are open for treatment during daytime, Monday to Friday.

About 150 employees work at the unit across various professional categories such as specialist nurses, radiology nurses, functionally trained nurses, nursing assistants, physicists, doctors, engineers, and biomedical analysts. Methods for radiation treatment are under constant development, making the workplace and the work itself very exciting and stimulating with opportunities for professional development within the unit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main placement will be in our preparation area. There you will work on preparing our patients for their treatment through individually tailored fixations based on the patient's specific needs and treatment area. You will also conduct examinations with dose planning CT, MR, and in some cases also PET-CT.

We offer a developing job within the framework of radiation treatment where high-tech care and oncological nursing form the basis of your responsibilities as a nurse. The work largely involves guiding and supporting the patient through a technically advanced care process.

As a nurse with us, you are the link between technology and care. The work requires close multiprofessional collaboration with doctors, physicists, nursing assistants, and engineers. Radiation treatment is a specialty under constant change and technical development, which is also reflected in the work, where it is included to stay updated with changes.

The working hours are scheduled during daytime.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed radiology nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. It is an advantage for the position if you have MR competence and/or experience in the field.
