IT Project Manager

About the position

Svenska kraftnät is looking for an experienced Technical IT Project Manager. With us, you will have the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects in an organization where IT is a crucial factor for the operational delivery capability and, in the long run, also contributes to the electrification of Sweden. You will be a key person who not only delivers results but also shapes the future digital IT landscape.

As a Technical Project Manager, you will drive IT projects related to Svenska kraftnät's control room IT support, where you will work together with internal resources and consultants in IT and operations. You will be responsible for the progress of projects with IT impact and report regularly to project owners and steering groups. The project model PPS, which is partially adapted to Svenska kraftnät's needs, will support you. In addition to PPS, we are governed as a state-owned enterprise by guidelines, instructions, and directives.

Your main tasks will include:

• Planning, leading, coordinating, and administering the project through all project phases.
• Achieving the project's objectives and milestones according to the approved timeline and budget.
• Anchoring in the organization.
• Delivering project deliverables to the designated management organization.
• Supporting project owners/clients in developing project directives and necessary documentation according to Svenska kraftnät's instructions and management and project models.
• Driving activities and continuously reporting progress and risks to the steering group.
• Being responsible for the project's budget and resource allocation.
• Communicating effectively with management, technical teams, and external suppliers.
• Procurement of new solutions according to Svenska kraftnät's directives and processes (e.g., LOU) when necessary.
• Leading internal project resources in a clear and positive manner according to Svenska kraftnät's values.

The position will belong to the Unit Power System Applications B within the IT section for power system operations, which is part of the IT Department for Power Systems and Electricity Market in the IT Division.

The section has the overall strategic and operational delivery responsibility for the IT solutions that enable the operation and planning of the power system, where the unit provides expertise regarding business development projects with IT impact to enable a modern IT environment for managing the power system.

The unit also leads and coordinates management and further development activities together with relevant operations within the management object Electricity Network Operations and various projects and programs related to the section's area of responsibility.

About you

Required qualifications:

Furthermore, you have a relevant academic degree in IT, systems science, computer engineering, industrial economics, or equivalent competence acquired in another way. You also have:

• At least 7–10 years of experience in project management within IT, several years of which involve complex projects in larger organizations with high security requirements.
• Current experience (last 3 years) working with security-sensitive / critical IT systems with high demands on information security in a complex IT organization.
• Experience and competence to formulate functional and non-functional requirements.
• Understanding of IT architecture and IT infrastructure.
• Experience navigating in organizations with many stakeholders and high demands on security and information security.
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

We consider it a merit if you have:

• Work experience in driving IT projects within the electricity industry.
• Experience leading procurements according to LOU where you have participated in the development of procurement documentation.
• Certifications in project management such as PPS, PRINCE2, SAFe, or other agile certifications.
