The Palliative Resource Teams - PRT and Advanced Home Care - ASIH are looking for nurses!

What is specialized palliative care?

Specialized palliative care is care provided to patients with complex symptoms or whose life situation entails special needs, performed by a multiprofessional team with specific knowledge and competence in palliative care.

The teams consist of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

Based on the patient's often complex needs and life situation, all professions contribute to optimizing palliative care. As a nurse, you have an important role in the team.

About the operation

Within the palliative section, there are currently PRT and ASIH, which provide specialized home care in collaboration with municipalities. The section also includes the Palliative Center (PC), which is our unit for education, development, and research as well as palliative consultancy.

The section also has medical responsibility for three hospices in Gothenburg.

The foundation of our work is to promote good quality of life despite life-threatening illness, based on the four cornerstones of palliative care: communication, symptom relief, support for relatives, and teamwork.

Nurse in PRT and ASIH

PRT is responsible for patients in need of specialized palliative care who are cared for in their own homes in Gothenburg City, Mölndal City, Partille, Härryda, and Öckerö municipalities. PRT operates from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM every day of the week.

ASIH is responsible for patients in the southwestern district around the clock every day of the week.

Your workplace is Högsbo Hospital and in the patient's home. You focus on the patient and their relatives and support the municipal healthcare and nursing staff in their daily work.

Examples of tasks include handling referrals, rounds, following up on medication prescriptions, participating in care planning, and coordinating functions among different professions and healthcare facilities.

The workday also includes home visits to the patient with various care interventions.

The teams are divided into different geographical areas. Specialized palliative care is provided to patients regardless of their living situation.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a commitment to and experience in palliative care. Your commitment to the patient group as well as your knowledge and experience are central to the team and the development of palliative care.

Experience in specialized palliative care and/or experience from a comparable care organization for specialized palliative care such as hospice or other operations is meritorious.

A master's degree in nursing, specialist training in palliative care, oncology, geriatric care, or other relevant further education for the operation is also meritorious.

You have a very good ability to collaborate in teams as well as to work independently. You have good pedagogical skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.

Travel in the job occurs, a driver's license is required.
