Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit with approximately 600 people within Business Area Vattenfall Generation. We train personnel in Swedish nuclear power, deliver nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develop and implement projects and assignments, and provide internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as the development and provision of training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and security assignments. The focus within Vattenfall Power Solutions is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We actively work on continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.

Vattenfall Power Solutions is now looking for colleagues in Gothenburg, Solna, Uppsala, Västerås, Oskarshamn, Nyköping, or Gävle! You will be part of the Technology department where we develop, implement project assignments, and provide expertise and product deliveries to Vattenfall's various operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders.
As a specialist and engineer, you will work with licensing processes and compliance for Vattenfall's nuclear facilities. This involves modifications to existing facilities, construction of new facilities, as well as operation and/or decommissioning. Work within non-nuclear facilities may also be relevant.
Depending on your subject matter expertise, previous experience, and preferences, you will work strategically with needs and concepts for licensing, taking a leading role in issues related to physical protection, information security, physical security, and personnel security. You will work through one or more steps in the licensing process all the way to compliance, from identified needs to commissioning.
Vattenfall's facilities are subject to requirements from, among others, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority and the Security Police, compliance with these authorities' regulations forms the foundation for the licensing work.
Examples of tasks:
- Develop strategies for successful licensing and compliance
- Interpret regulations and implement government directives
- Investigate, assess, and propose solutions to issues considering the operational needs and authority requirements
- Safety reporting, safety analyses, and safety reviews within radiation safety/physical protection
- Security protection analyses (physical security, information security, personnel security).
Requirements specification
- Post-secondary education in, for example, natural sciences or engineering
- Experience and competence in licensing and requirements management, radiation safety/physical protection and/or security protection
- Good knowledge of both Swedish and English (spoken and written)
- IT proficiency, competence in the Office suite.
Meritorious:
- Master's and/or engineering degree in a relevant field
- Experience in nuclear power or other process/power industry
- Knowledge of construction principles for nuclear power plants and the facility's documentation, operation, and waste management
- Experience working with security-sensitive operations
- Knowledge and experience of the Security Protection Act, Security Protection Ordinance, Security Police regulations, Radiation Protection Act, Nuclear Activities Act, Radiation Protection Ordinance, Ordinance on Nuclear Activities, and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority's regulations.

With your experience and ability to be receptive and think analytically, you create progress in your assignments and see the big picture. You enjoy collaborating but have no problem achieving results and working independently. You place great importance on quality in your deliveries and maintain contact with both colleagues and clients throughout the process.
As travel is part of the job, you need to have a B driver's license. We actively work with technical aids to reduce travel for work.
