Psychologist for Adult Psychiatric Outpatient Care

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Psychiatric Outpatient Care

The psychiatry department consists of inpatient care, addiction treatment, and outpatient care for both children and adults.

There is a psychiatric emergency clinic available 24/7.

The adult psychiatric outpatient care is located in Visby and serves the entire island as its catchment area. The catchment area is relatively small in terms of both size and population, but the island location means that the operation must be able to offer a breadth of both competence and services.

We have a comprehensive development project underway that includes the adaptation and implementation of nationally developed care pathways, national care and intervention programs, and regional process maps.

At our outpatient clinic, approximately 40 employees work in various professions, including doctors and nurses. The treatment group in outpatient care consists of psychologists, psychotherapists, CBT therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation coordinators, and social workers. Currently, there are ten psychologists. As one employee is about to become a parent and will be on parental leave for about a year, we are looking for a psychologist who is eager to work in adult psychiatric outpatient care during this time. It is easy to thrive with us!

Your Responsibilities

The psychologist assesses and evaluates patients, often in a multidisciplinary team with, for example, doctors, and provides treatment and psychoeducational interventions either individually or in groups. The advertised temporary position includes assessment work, often with neuropsychiatric questions, as well as treatment interventions using cognitive behavioral therapy.

The competence of psychologists plays an important role in our ongoing improvement work. There is an opportunity to participate in development work.

Who Are You?

You who are applying need to be a licensed psychologist.

We prefer that you have experience working with psychiatric patients, including psychiatric assessments and psychological evaluations, as well as good knowledge of neuropsychiatric symptoms in adults. Interest and experience in working with patients with complex psychiatric conditions, including comorbidity with addiction, is also meritorious.

The work requires that you are communicative and skilled at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing. We expect you to be able to make assessments independently and to work in a structured manner. We want you to be a person who finds it easy to collaborate and who has a professional approach. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
