Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for people living in BmSS, Housing with Special Services? We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to provide support to individuals in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home.

Falken service housing is an LSS accommodation for adults, women, and men with psychiatric disabilities. The housing consists of 16 apartments in a multi-family building with a common area. The staff group consists of 8 support assistants and one support educator. We are now looking for you who want to make a difference for those we are here for!

Your placement will be at Falken, but you may need to step in and work at the nearby workplace, Frödingsgatan's service housing, if necessary.

Some of us encounter obstacles when the world is not designed according to our way of functioning. As a support assistant, it is your role to support the tenants' participation and create opportunities to influence decisions and interventions. You provide support in everyday life with everything from communication, stimulation of leisure activities to household chores. Your role is to adapt your support and contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other people around the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation.

By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are the focus. They get a safe home with the opportunity to live like everyone else. In your role, you are responsible for motivating the tenants in their daily lives. This may involve stimulating contacts outside the residence and creating conditions for a rewarding leisure time based on the user's interests. As a support assistant, you enable our tenants to develop and grow. All social documentation is done in the documentation system Treserva. If you have not previously used the systems used within the City of Gothenburg, you will receive training in these.

Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and need to adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening, sleeping on-call, and working every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof corresponding to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the requirement may be offered to take a language test. You should have at least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with both mental (e.g., psychotic disorders and schizophrenia) and physical disabilities. Experience and knowledge of LAB (low-arousal approach), ESL (independent living), MI (motivational interviewing), and VSS (care and coordination) are meritorious. Additionally, it is desirable if you have a B driver's license and driving experience, as our users have activities outside the home.

As a person, you are friendly and helpful to others even in stressful situations. You listen, show respect, and work to ensure that the user gets what they need. You collaborate and understand the common mission. You do this by planning, organizing, and prioritizing the work effectively and ensuring that the work is completed on time and following up on the results.
