About the Job

We are now looking for a School Social Worker for Lärjeskolan in Angered to complement our School Social Work focused on middle school.

You are employed by the Social Administration Nordost within the Family Reception and Resources for Children and Adults department. You will be a colleague with other school social workers at the UngAngered unit. Your placement is at Lärjeskolan, where you will be supervised by the school management as part of the student health team at the school, aiming to prevent norm-breaking behavior and strengthen collaboration between social services and schools. At Lärjeskolan, there is already a School Social Worker who will be your closest colleague.

Your mission will be to work together with partners with a clear focus on ensuring that students succeed in primary school and have the prerequisites for further studies. At the principal's request, you will investigate and assess the school social and psychosocial situation of individual students. This will be used as a basis for decisions regarding the establishment of action programs, special support, or school social interventions from the social services' family therapists. You will act as the collaborative link between the school and social services for targeted interventions towards at-risk students. This may include ongoing dialogue with teaching educators, conversations and support for guardians, as well as collaboration with other actors such as leisure activities and participation in SSPF. At the school, you will have close cooperation with colleagues, counselors, and other actors addressing students' social issues.

You will be responsible for identifying students at risk of criminal behavior. Mapping and assessing which measures should be implemented in consultation with the principal/EHT and working on the student's school issues together with the student and teacher. You will act as a link between the school and social services to contribute to good collaboration and increase trust in social services. You will also provide knowledge support during reports of concern and other contacts with social services.

Qualifications

For this position, you are required to have a degree in social work or another academic education deemed equivalent by the employer. You need experience working within social services towards children and families. You have a good understanding of both the school's and social services' missions, such as the Social Services Act, the Education Act, and the curriculum. It is particularly meritorious to have good knowledge of the Angered area and established professional networks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.

As a person, you are professional in all meetings. You easily build trust-based relationships with students, educators, and guardians. You are responsible and collaborative. You work independently based on your collaborative assignment between two entities and thus have a good ability to prioritize, plan, execute, and follow up your work based on the requirements set by both parties. You are solution-oriented and can see opportunities in difficult situations. You have a strong belief that all students can succeed if they are given the right conditions and have the ability to convey this conviction to students, guardians, educators, and colleagues. You are a clear and good communicator who gets heard for your thoughts and ideas and can influence decisions in a certain direction.
