Job Advertisement: Awake Night Assistant

We are currently looking for an assistant for awake night shifts for our client in Ulricehamn - the work involves alternating shifts in Vegby and centrally in Ulricehamn. To get to know the client, we provide thorough training during the day/evening/weekend before you start working independently at night.

Here is how our client describes her needs and what is expected of you as an assistant.

I am a happy and creative 13-year-old girl. With me, you will be involved in everything that happens in my daily life, and you will become an important piece of the puzzle in my life. You need to be prepared to work with both of my parents. You will help me during the night when I need to sleep, and since I have complex epilepsy, I always need to have an assistant nearby, as I can have seizures at any time. Therefore, I have a waking assistant at night.

I love to paint, craft, listen to music, and sometimes dance, but it all depends on how I feel that day. I also like horses and sometimes ride in the afternoons after school. At my mom's, we have two rabbits that I love to cuddle with, and at my dad's, there is a cat, so you cannot be allergic to animals.

The Role and Experience of the Assistant

To fit as my personal assistant, I hope you have experience in similar work, perhaps as an assistant or working with children with special needs in another way. It is a big plus if you have basic knowledge of epilepsy. It is important that you are caring and reliable, with a big heart for helping others. You also need to be resourceful, playful, and good at motivating, as I appreciate it when we come up with creative and fun activities together. Flexibility and the ability to adapt are important. I am looking for someone who is positive and spreads joy around them. You also need to be calm and stable, even in stressful situations, and have the ability to understand my needs and my situation. Commitment and a genuine interest in contributing to a meaningful and fun daily life for me are also very important.

You need a driver's license and access to your own car to be able to get home when I am at my mom's, as we live in the countryside without public transport.

Desirable Experience

• A driver's license and access to your own car are required.
• Experience with epilepsy.
• Experience working with youth with special needs.
• Swedish in speech and writing.

Working Hours/Employment Rate

• Permanent employment as long as the assignment lasts with a fixed schedule on a rolling 4-week basis.
• Nights usually start at 20:30 and continue until 7:30.
• Work every other weekend.
• Immediate start.
